Designing production halls – what is worth knowing?

Designing production halls requires consideration of occupational health and safety regulations and construction standards that ensure safety, comfort, and productivity. The minimum temperature in production spaces should be at least 14°C, while in office and back-of-house areas – at least 18°C. Lighting is also crucial, with a minimum of 200 lux, rising to as much as 500 lux in areas requiring precise work. Designs take into account the influx of daylight, provided the technological process allows. Ventilation ensures adequate air exchange, tailored to the number of people and the nature of production, with a recommended minimum of half an hour. Evacuation routes are designed in accordance with regulations – wide, marked, with emergency lighting, and completely free of obstacles. This allows production halls to combine safety, ergonomics, and process efficiency, creating an optimal working environment and supporting production flow.

Employee comfort and safety

Social facilities in production halls

When designing social facilities in production halls, we emphasize comfort, safety, and compliance with labor law. We design locker rooms with a minimum area of ​​0.3 m.m2 per employee and are equipped with individual lockers for storing personal clothing and work clothes. These lockers are typically located directly next to washrooms and showers with hot and cold water, and their number is adjusted to the number of employees and the specific work performed.

For shifts with more than 20 employees, we provide a dining area equipped with comfortable seating, food warming facilities, and access to sinks. Restrooms are located near workstations, locker rooms, and washrooms, with their number adjusted to the size of the crew.

All rooms are heated, ventilated, and lit in accordance with applicable standards, and we apply additional sanitary requirements for particularly dirty work. This allows our solutions to combine ergonomics, comfort, and safety, creating a comfortable working environment and supporting the efficiency of the entire production process.
